My previous job requires me to travel a lot. Once I traveled to Kota Kinabalu, I was NOT given to my regularly hotel room as the hotel was fully booked and the room I got was 1314.

I didn’t feel comfortable once I stepped in. I was able to sense there someone else in the room with me. I left room after I put my luggage down. I came back after dinner and went for a shower. The most frightening thing happen TV turns on itself. So I immediately run down to the reception and demand an immediate room change but I was told that the next available room will be the next day at 9am! When I told her that I will not want to go back to my room anymore; the receptionist was NOT surprise and kind of ‘understand’ with my action and ‘hint’ to me its ‘common’.

So I planned to wait at the lobby till 9am but at 8am I got a phone call from my family in Singapore informing me that my grandmother had just passed away. I was in shocked so I informed the receptionist that I want to check out immediately and I also requested for a hotel staff to go back with me to the room and I start packing.

That was a real bad experience and from that time onwards, I never go back to that hotel again.
